Iced white exteriors and charcoal trim with insulated sectional doors
Located just a few miles from downtown Petal, Mississippi, Make Space Storage is a fully climate-controlled self-storage facility. After analyzing the competition, the owners realized there was a very limited amount of climate-controlled units in the area. The existing units were full, commanding high rates, and were not very attractive. Make Space was determined to become the premier self-storage in the area. Watching Trachte’s video on building exterior access climate-controlled units helped them build their entire site as so. The low-profile buildings have iced white exteriors and charcoal trim with insulated sectional doors. A variety of unit sizes are offered, including exterior units. To get the maximum building coverage out of their lot, they built four 70’ wide gabled buildings that had one or two interior corridors.
In efforts to outshine the competition, they wanted to make their facility look inviting to customers. Since the plan was to have a manager on site, they built a nice, two-story office with a brick façade and custom decorative canopies. In addition, they have 24/7 drive up access and a fully stocked on-site retail store that offers everything for a person’s packaging needs. With a focus on security, a gate and perimeter fencing were implemented, along with surveillance cameras and motion sensors.
Within the first couple months of operation, the owners quickly found that their facility was turning heads in town. They have been renting up faster than their projections and are very happy with the final result.
