Thanks to its success, the owner is already moving forward with a second climate controlled/mega storage development in Oconomowoc, proving that a well-built facility backed by smart design, high-quality materials, and modern technology is a formula for growth.
Built to Perform — and Built to Expand
The Hartland location spans 48,000 square feet and offers 150 storage units, primarily oversized MEGA boat and RV spaces. Located just off Highway STH-16, Stor-It Right solves storage challenges for residents and businesses throughout Lake Country. Whether you’re storing a boat, RV, personal items, or business equipment, this facility offers both indoor and drive-up options with unmatched convenience and amenities.
The facility’s bold exterior—iced white buildings with matte black trim—is more than visually appealing. It reflects the owner’s investment in Trachte’s durable steel building systems and attention to detail. Select units are equipped with Trac-Rite roll-up doors, offering reliable, smooth operation for long-term use.
Climate-Controlled Excellence
Stor-It Right features the largest climate-controlled units ever built by Trachte. The mega 14’x40’ and 14’x15’ configurations were specifically designed to meet Wisconsin’s demanding energy codes. The design includes:
- Insulated Sectional Doors:
Provided by others. While Trachte Building Systems does not supply insulated sectional doors, they are required for exterior-access climate-controlled units. Trachte can design building packages to accommodate these doors as part of the overall layout. - Spray Foam Insulation Around Openings:
Provided by others. Although not provided by Trachte, applying spray foam insulation around exterior sectional door openings is considered a best practice to support energy code compliance and improve thermal efficiency. - Interior and Exterior HVAC systems:
The facility features HVAC systems designed to support both interior and exterior access climate-controlled units, providing consistent heating and cooling across the property. - Humidity Control and Gas-Fired Heating:
Climate-controlled units maintain interior temperatures typically between 50°F and 80°F, a common industry standard.
