Built on Specialized Brands, United by One Standard.
TBS Companies is the parent organization behind a group of focused brands that shape the steel building market through smart design, skilled execution, and products that perform day after day. Across self-storage systems, roll-up door manufacturing, design-build construction, and fire training solutions, our companies share a common mindset: do it right, back it with experience, and build for real world use. By bringing Trachte, Trac-Rite, MakoRabco, and Fire Facilities under one platform, TBS Companies supports each team with shared resources and long-range vision while keeping the craftsmanship and customer focus that made each brand trusted in the first place.
As a leading self-storage building manufacturer, Trachte (pronounced Trock-tee) designs, engineers, manufactures, and erects complete pre-engineered and customized steel building systems for owners, developers, architects, and general contractors across North America.Â
With more than 125 years of experience in the self-storage industry, now is the perfect time to join Trachte. We bring deep industry expertise, integrated engineering, and dedicated erection services together in one coordinated process. The result is a better building, a smoother build, and outstanding team-focused support. Customers choose Trachte not just for a building — but for a partner who helps them develop, establish and scale their self-storage business.

What is an ESOP?
An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a special type of employee benefit plan designed to enable each eligible employee to become owners of stock in their company. There are approximately 10,000 ESOP companies in the United States with 10 million employee owners, and Trachte is proud to be one of them.
What does employee-owned mean?
Each eligible employee shares ownership in the company and is rewarded through yearly stock allocations, which are distributed upon retirement. Employees are motivated to be aware of and involved in the day-to-day operation of our business. This involvement supports the growth of our company and in turn, creates an opportunity for individual wealth for our employees and their families.Â
Trachte has an EAP available to assist our employees with difficult problems or concerns that may arise, such as grief, substance abuse, stress, family concerns, etc. Our EAP provides counseling and resources for issues that could affect the employee’s personal or professional life. This service is free of charge and confidential to all Trachte employees and their families.Â
