Madison / Verona Self-Storage

The Town and City of Verona are a fast- growing area southwest of Madison, Wisconsin. It is an ideal area for a self-storage facility. Madison Verona Self-Storage is located along Highway 18, a busy throughfare with over 40,000 cars passing the facility each day. The land needed to have a zone change to allow self-storage. The township was receptive to this idea because the township wanted to maintain the land in the town and not have it annexed into the city of Madison. The two requirements were that the land could not be sub divided and second, more importantly the land did not require city of Madison water and sewer connections. The final hurdle was to get the township’s approval on the look of the project. The township wanted to maintain the farming heritage of the area; therefore, the owner built the barn style office.

Madison Verona Self-Storage currently has 10 buildings, and when totally built out will have 19 buildings for over 135,000 square feet. The facility has conventional drive-up units plus drive-up climate-controlled and larger Boat/RV sized units. The barn style self-storage office has a welcoming interior for customers to rent a storage unit. The facility is renting faster than projections and should be completely built out by 2024.

10/15 The climate controlled buildings feature flush jambs and headers, and the recessed entry points are also finished in Trachte's attractive concealed fastener flush system.

11/15 The site has an excellent location in an affluent, growing community close to a residential area.

12/15 A wall mounted kiosk allows for rentals and payments when the office is closed. The kiosk is located in a heated and cooled breezeway. Trachte recommends this for customer comfort as well as to protect the kiosk hardware.
