CitySpace on Main

Cityspace on Main is a creative re-use of a former industrial building. The structure was revitalized with paint, windows, plantings and an attractive sign to turn a neighborhood eyesore into a profitable business.

One of the benefits of developing a conversion rather than new construction is that city officials may be more willing to allow a conversion of an underutilized property in areas where new construction would otherwise be difficult to get permitted.

Additionally, conversion projects usually eliminate the need for costly earthwork and utility connections. When planning a conversion, be sure to understand local sprinkler and firewall requirements, since those can be major renovation expenses.

4/5 This facility was phased by building one floor at a time. When photographed, the second floor units in the windows were only for show. A second phase later completed the upper level.

5/5 The lower level of this system will support a concrete deck for the second level. This system is ideal for existing structures with high ceilings. Trachte can also provide steel stairs for these projects. An elevator or lift is suggested in these projects.
