  • Project Estimator

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc., located in the Sun Prairie Business Park, is a leading manufacturer of steel building structures used primarily in the Self-Storage industry. We have an immediate opportunity for a Project Estimator reporting to our Director of Engineering.

    Job responsibilities are as follows:

    • Review of architectural and structural drawings, specifications and contracts
    • Prepare proposals based on construction documents and Trachte product standards
    • Generating layout drawings in AutoCAD
    • Preparing Requests for Information, Addendums, and Change Orders
    • Maintaining and entering data in manufacturing software
    • May include answering telephone calls from customers and erectors regarding specific projects
    • May include estimating the price and provide a professional proposal for various building product lines in a timely manner
    • Follow Business Management System policies and procedures
    • Understand the importance of customer and regulatory requirements
    • Participates in continual improvement regarding processes and products

    The candidate we seek have a high school diploma and experience with reading, interpreting commercial construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings, construction specifications, and AIA standard contracts and preparation of estimates and proposals is required. Experience with AutoCAD required.

  • Pricing/Order Entry Clerk

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc is a leading manufacturer of Self-Storage Buildings, located in the Sun Prairie Business Park, has an immediate opportunity for a Pricing/Order Entry Clerk reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, this position will be part of inside sales team provide Pricing and Order Entry of building proposals. Other responsibilities include:

    • Assist the Regional Sales Managers in defining projects and coordinating internal resources to support the development of quotes while responding to customer requests
    • Input customer information into CRM, the site plan database and other sales and business information systems
    • Define applicable building codes
    • Prepare proposals using Quick Pricing and excel tools for the appropriate projects
    • Order entry of contracted buildings into Navision
    • Occasionally answer outside calls and route them appropriately

    The candidate we seek will have an associate degree in business or construction management or other related field. Two to three years’ experience in either inside sales, pricing or order entry preferred. Knowledge of building systems, structural design, products and services ideal. Must have experience with the Microsoft Office suite and CRM knowledge is preferred. AutoCAD experience desired.

  • Engineering Technician

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc., located in the Sun Prairie Business Park, is a leading manufacturer of steel building structures used primarily in the Self-Storage industry. We have an immediate opportunity for an Engineering Technician in our production design team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will join our engineering team.

    Job responsibilities are as follows:

    • Prepare CAD drawings for standard and custom building product lines.
    • Compile bills of materials required to construct buildings.
    • Read and interpret contracts and other documents including: work requests, customer site plans, product improvement memos, and layout sketches.
    • Prepare CAD drawings of site plans and partition system layouts, including custom details as required.
    • Visit job sites for training on parts and erection methods.
    • Maintain and enter data in manufacturing software.
    • May include creation of part drawings in CAD.
    • May include answering telephone calls from customers and erectors regarding specific building designs.
    • May include estimating the price and provide a professional proposal for various building product lines in a timely manner.

    Our Door Assembly Welders work on various axle components.

  • 3rd Shift Sheet Metal Worker

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of steel building products and has immediate needs for 2nd shift sheet metal production operators.  We are located in the Sun Prairie Business Park. The starting wage rate for these positions is $16.50 (including shift differential).  Third shift hours are Sunday – Thursday, 11 PM – 7 AM.

    Our Sheet metal workers perform a wide variety of work assignments including the following:

    • Set up and operate a variety of metal forming equipment including Brake Presses, CNC turret punch press and roll formers and door assembly equipment.
    • Operate cranes and industrial power trucks to load and unload material to/from machines.
    • Perform mig/tig welding and assembly activities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Minimum experience of one to three years prior Sheet Metal work is preferred.   • 2nd Shift Production Supervisor

    Description:

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc. a leading manufacturer of Self-Storage steel structure building products located in Sun Prairie Wisconsin has an immediate opportunity for a Production Supervisor supporting our second shift manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will lead the second shift production operation with broad accountabilities in the areas of safety, production, quality, continuous improvement and employee engagement.

    Other responsibilities include:
    •Maintains employee adherence to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
    •Maintain a safety first priority and hold team accountable to safety guidelines at all times.
    •Approve absence requests for departmental employees. Complete weekly timecards. Evaluate necessary staffing and assign individuals to meet production requirements.
    •Assess and evaluate cross training opportunities and develop an implementation plan.
    •Assist in trouble shooting problems on shop floor with production reporting, find root cause/corrective action.
    •Communicate and elevate repetitive problems and potential solutions to operations team.
    •Trouble-shoot problems and assist with corrective actions.
    •Hold team accountable for meeting production goals.

    Requirements:

    The candidate we seek will have an Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   • 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

    Description:

    Trachte Building Systems Inc. – Sun Prairie, WI

    Trachte Building Systems, Inc. a leading manufacturer of steel Self-Storage Buildings, located in Sun Prairie Wisconsin, has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic supporting our 2nd Shift manufacturing operations. Second Shift hours are 3pm – 11pm. Reporting to the Production Manager you will perform maintenance activities on machinery and equipment used in our production process.

    Ability to plan, work independently, execute, and follow up on needed mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and troubleshooting abilities. Will be responsible for planned maintenance activities and daily calls to ensure equipment up time is maximized.

    Must have experience in performing electrical repairs with 480Volt, 3 phase electrical, be able to read schematics, run conduit, and complete electrical circuitry.

    Able to perform machine installations, relocation of equipment, and startup sequences training operators in general daily machine maintenance requirements.

    Handles preventative maintenance including, but not limited to: general oiling and greasing of equipment.

    Requirements:

    The qualified applicant will have a two year Maintenance Mechanic certificate from college or technical school; five to seven years general manufacturing maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong electrical and mechanical experience along with pneumatic and hydraulic hands on experience. Ability to work unsupervised, self-starter, team environment and able to handle deadline pressure. Must provide own basic hand tools. Must possess a valid driver’s license for insurance purposes.
